I am a big fan of Kelbytraining.com. For $24 a month you can easily move through the entire Lightroom 4 program. It is so well done; easy to understand even if you are new to LR (as I am). I've been so impressed with their stuff. And actually for the subscription, you can access all of their training, not just LR.

iTunes podcast it's free and showed me 99% of what I know. Just type in Lightroom in iTunes

The Adobe Lightroom page on YouTube would give you some basics about the product too.

I found this one hour "crash course in LR3" a very good start for me since I didn't know anything about LR at all. The other videos recommended helped after that.

What do you think guys about Colin's tutorial from photoshopcafe?

What about SLR Lounge (post-production Pye)? Are his Lr4 training Dvds any good?

He seems a little too fast to follow (with monotone) on his YouTube videos but does anyone have any experience with his training dvds?

That's fine, but that are several very important differences in the LR4 Develop module, as well as other major changes to the whole package that need to be understood. I would focus on LR4 tutorials and ignore most of those that are specific to LR3 as they may confuse you when you actually get the product. BTW, Lightroom 4 is available for $149, half the price of Lightroom 3. The full version can be downloaded for review for 30 days at no cost and with no commitment. I got a couple of good books, watched some tutorials and played with the free download for a couple of weeks before purchasing Lightroom 4. The The Camera Raw features are as good, and I think more full featured and easier to use, as those in Photoshop. They are worlds better than the ACR in Essentials. Lightroom 4 also has a lot of other features as well. Compared to Photoshop, or even Essentials, its very easy to learn and use. There are no layers! I personally don't really need most of the additional features in Photoshop so Lightroom is pretty much all I use. One of its most important features, IMHO, is that its 100% non destructive It does not actually modify the original RAW or JPEG files, but instead overlays instructions that changes what you see. The changes only permanently modify files that are exported from Lightroom, usually as JPEGS. If you import using Adobes DNG format, you can easily share the DNG files with the Lightrrom changes included, but I prefer to keep my originals in Canon's RAW format. Both Photoshop and Photoshop Essentials are destructive and modify your original pictures. It may be a confusing concept until you understand the benefits. You can also make virtual copies and snapshots to show the same photograph with different settings without having to have multiple copies of the original raw file taking up additional disk space. The virtual copies and snapshots are not temporary unless you delete them and will be stay around as long as you have Lightroom and the original image on your computer.
