DSLR to the staple center

Does anyone know if you can bring a dSLR camera to the Staple center in Los Angles, Ca to take general pictures of place and family at a Basketball game?
please give me some feed back or should i take high powerd point and Shoot camera

Yes! Non-professional, non-flash, still photography is permitted at most events (disposable, digital, or 35mm cameras with no interchangeable or telephoto lens). Video and audio recording is prohibited. Please note that some shows will have a different camera policy. ahh dang, thats sucks

It really sucks that a person with a DSLR and a sub-100mm lens is denied admission and the person with a P and S superzomm walks in with no problems. The Staple Center policy is typical of many venues.
