Unfortunately probably a lot of wannabe wedding shooters do this to get their foot in the door... heck I don't even use images I took while second shooting... lol

Unfortunately outing them here probably will miss your target audience of local brides...

True - how much does a double page spread in Jo Binski's local newspaper cost?!

Have you contacted Binski about this?

I think it is important to catch blatant illegal usage of photographs. Some of my photos have been stolen, too, and I have no pity for those who do it. We have not had many of these threads here, and I'm sure there is no trend going on. Exposing stolen photos to public via POTN is fine by me as long as the case is proven but I feel it would only be fair that target is made aware of this thread for comments.

But that is the slippery slope here... I think that allowing somebody to effectively castrate somebody on the web, because of the good SEO qualities of this site, opens a door for this to happen more often.

If you were so wronged by this person then buy a domain and setup your own site to conduct your vigilante justice - don't use a great website as POTN just because it ranks highly in search engines.

None of us know the circumstances. behind all of this, and we're ruining someone's reputation all based off of one persons account.

That's not right.

I could set up my own domain or something - but who would see it? I guess that's the point of doing this here & on my facebook page etc - it has publicity. I apologise if it offends anyone or seems tedious but so far the response from others is this forum has been at least 70/30 in favour.

As far as it being based only on my account - the screen shots provide the evidence of the use of the images on his site. Whether the images are his or mine I guess is not proven - people are relying on my word. For the record I'm more than able to prove they are mine (I have huge prints in my office of some of these shots as well as all the RAW files and everything else!).

I didnt make this post or the accusations lightly - and I'm happy to live by the sword and die by it too. If someone (even me) did this kind of post and was found to be wrong in their accusations I would like to think the exposure would work just as negatively against them.

I was reading the thread and am shocked and appalled that a photographer would steal another photographer's work, use it as their own.
However, I too have some reservations about this public flogging and mob raising on POTN. I mean, it's forbidden in the Marketplace in case of a suspected scammer, right? So maybe that rule should be in place for cases like these too?
I'm asking respectfully.
I just feel somewhat uncomfortable about this thread, is all.
