any advice on working with these shadows would be appreciated. (i did shoot raw)

*Oh and getting 20+ people and kids to listen to you Sucks

This pictures are not bad, the only thing I an tell you that it is impossible to keep your eyes open when the sun is in your face.
Picture #3 , I don't think that those shadows are a big deal compare to having their eyes almost closed, you will be ok with number 3.

One and two are fine. If you have to shoot in bright sun, have the group close their eyes and count down for them to open their eyes. Dappled light on 3 ok. Dodge in lr.

i like them, nice setting, not much you can do about shadows unless you can assemble them all again at a different time of day. looks like the flag is at half-mast in 3, is that for mcmurdo?

It seems to me that those stairs in the background of the group shot gave you the opportunity to shorten the width of the group and get each person a little bigger in the frame. Put the kids on the closest step. Bride and Groom, Maid of Honor on the next step. Brides Maids and ushers last or perhaps on two steps. That would also get the lamp posts away from peoples' heads.

I did not want the building tot take away from the subject any more then it had to, The building is Iolani palace and to people in Hawaii is instantly recognizable. (wiki page (external link))

i would of loved to shoot on the steps but its not allowed they are only opened for special cerominies and other then that are chained of with a couple of big signs telling you so - I was also shooting in the grounds without a permit as the state of hawaii has some messed up way of letting you get one ( you cant get one because the state workers have no idea what there doing and just keep redirecting you to other people who also have no clue) So i had to bribe the security guard to let us shoot.

I did a quick retouch. The crop should be tight like this, maybe even tighter by chopping off the top right above their heads.

@Phillip The first crop is epic. Nice work.

On the second one, I would try to clone out the light post behind the guy on the far left. Looks like a funny hat.

WARNING!: Before commenting that my color correction is horrible, please keep in mind that I am colorblind, and that hasn't stopped me from trying.

Yeah first one is my fav too. I now see the LAMP hat.. heh. Thanks for the compliment on the edit :)

Your shots are very good btw. You just need to crop them and touch them up a bit.
