Since they are no thread about this new lens I'll start one because I just can't wait to see the pictures from this lens as I'm planing to get one...

in the meantime I finally found a sample image from canon japan web site...however its pretty useless lol still better than nothing :mrgreen:

For the price, this thing better have a retractable arm that will press the shutter button for me. lol

Finally a real world production sample image unfortunately, these image does not really shows the performance of the lens, its a cloudy pic anyway also this COULD be fake since this lens is so new and not that many people has got their hands on it yet so judge for yourself...

If you want to compare it with 16-35 f2.8 II, which one do you recommend? My 24-105 just died and want to replace it with any of these two, any comments is appreciated.

The 16-35 is much wider on the wide end, and the 24-70 is longer on the long end.
