The lighting there was crap at best. I had to shoot at ISO 12,800/F4/ at 1/400. They look like crap, I know but here are some from my sons (#3) last HS game....

Matty, for 12,800 f/4 at 1/400 - they look great! We're always our own harshest critics, but these are great. Tough slugging watching your sons last game too - but dad's got some great moments captured for many years to come. My son's season ended Saturday, but he's JV going into senior next year so I've got a little time left...although anymore hits like this and I'm not so sure!

He's quarterback #10 - rolled out and dodged the first tackle by #50 then headed upfield - with his blockers behind him - and into frame came #88, who actually went to changed direction at the last second and twisted his ankle, falling down at the opportune moment in front of my son resulting in a spectacular head over heels tackle - don't know if I looked up at the last split second out of concern or what, but the focus point of the last two frames - the most important - ended up oof. I didn't even get the landing! ARGH! sooc:

Thanks Ken. I really appreciate that. My son played QB as well and for sure they take some shots! That series of yours is enough to make you cringe for sure. I see that your 7D looses focus at the worst time as well... But then again I missed things with my soon to be 1D3 when I tried it out. Great series, none the less.

I look forward to seeing that #10 stud play Varsity next year! Wish him well for me, please.

I have been fortunate in being able to make almost every game he has played. I started shooting his games when he was young and for some reason I broke out my video camera during the second game of his freshman year and was able to catch this on video. This might be my favorite memory of all his years playing football.

What a great run not only to capture Matty, but to be his first HS TD is pretty sweet! None too shabby of a park skier either I noticed - mine's a snowboarder - takes after his goofy-foot-knuckle-dragging old man!

Like I said, at the moment of contact I think I lost concentration, as the focus point drifted to the knee of #75 in the back to the left of his shoulder - not so much the 7D, as the slightly concerned shooter at the controls! Thanks for the well wishes and seeing how athletic your son is I'm sure we haven't seen the last of him either. Cheers man.

Now that football is over, we are just waiting for the snow to fall. The slopes are open and I'm dying to try my new skis. But I will wait for better snow. Where are you located? I see snow in the background of your last group of photos.

Those are some nice places to ski. One of these days I'm gonna take a ski trip up your way.

The Henry Wise Pumas are still kicking butt - undefeated. A win tomorrow and they are going to the State Championship.
