Questions about the Canon 50mm f/1.4 and aquarium photos...

I was wondering if anyone knows of examples of aquarium photos taken with the Canon 50mm f/1.4, particularly in public aquariums where flash-photography is generally a no-no.

Or even better if anyone has direct experience with this lens and taking aquarium photos.

I used my 50mm 1.8 at Sea World to take pictures of fish in low light w/o flash. I really lovethe 50mm prime. The focal length is just about perfect for aquarium work...

I bought the 50mm 1.8 since the 17-40 was my primar lens for aquarium work but i needed faster f/stops...

I dont like to use flash only because it takes away a lot of the special lighting they use... For example the nice florecent glow of the salt water fish under actinic lighting.

The 50mm 1.8 is excellent for aquarium photography . The 1.4 should be even better . Try to find a place where the glass or acrylic isn't to scratched and their isn't to many little nose prints on it . What you barely see , the camera will make really stand out .
Oh and curved glass can make it a nightmare to get good shots .

I've also found the results hit or miss for use of a CPF, sometime the polarizer will pick up bizarre wavelens in the glass, a real no-no if you ask me.

Nose and figure prints can be fixed with the small lens cleaning cloth and spray bottle most of us carry in our bags
