First attempt at shooting planes and boy was it a lot harder than I thought it would be, heck they're fast!

I took these thinking they were slightly different.

Many thanks
Simon.

You think planes are hard , you should try birds, at least planes fly in straight lines

If you think that was hard, just try it at a shutter speed that doesn't stop the props as your 1/1250 sec did! See the "Airshow guys - prop freeze?" & other links in post #2 of: Shooting airshows in Manual

Second, in the "Share" areas IMAGE POSTING RULES only allow 2 attachments by the OP per thread, OR 8 embedded (linked) images, OR a combination of both totaling 8 per thread. (Maximum 1024 pixels on any side.) You can always just post a link to more, though, or better yet, post a link to a gallery so we don't have to click on each image link.
Some exceptions are group threads, like "Show Me...", "Post your best...", equipment reviews, Tutorials, etc.
You may add a few additional photos if requested, but only in a reply to other member's post and request.

Thanks and yes I suppose they do at least fly in a straight line! :)

The Lancaster was about 200 feet above me, just after taking off, fantastic noise.
The Wingwalker was a higher and that was taken with the Sigma 150 - 500'

Here are a few more ...

1. I love this shot, far from pefect but the sheer drama.

love the colours and composition in No6

Your right about it being difficult, I find watching an aeroplane it looks like its moving slowly and you have plenty of time...but soon as you aim a camera at one it seems to be travellying at light speed....and as for birds so unpredictable its a marvel to see the captures of BIF on these forums.....But I do wonder how many of these shots that get shared are just the results of lots of hard work with plenty of failures and non-keepers beforehand which we never get to see.
