I was hoping to never make one of these threads, but unfortunately my 7D gave up after only 46,000 shutter clicks. It's been good to me though and has never given me any problems before, but about a week ago I started to get constant Error 30 while doing burst shots with my final shot being an all black image. This tells me the shutter was sticking in the closed position. I did all the tips and tricks I could find but nothing worked. I know shutter life is never a guarantee but damn I was at least hoping for close to 100,000 before it gave up. Thankfully I just signed up for CPS a few months ago. Let's see how good that rush repair service is
Back to the ole' trusty XSi for the next few weeks.
Do you shoot a lot outside, in temperature extremes? Just wondering, if you did.. would that contribute to a faster death.
