What was the theme of the contest and what were you trying to portray?

It was for the company I work for and the category I chose was employees playing sports. I was just trying to capture a dramatic portrait of someone 'playing a sport'. I chose to go the route of capturing a staged moment.

I really like the 1st one because of the expression and the fact that I can see his entire top torso and body posture. The 2nd one looks too dark and my eyes have a hard time understanding what is going on. I'd try to brighten that one up a bit and possible soften the harsh light to the right of the eye. That is where my eyes gravitate to instead of his eye.

I like the 1st one. I would clone out the "Vlasat" logo and burn out those bricks in the back.

2nd one is too underexposed.

Yea i've been going back and forth on the exposure of the second shot. I'm leaning towards brightening it now.

HiepBui - I hadnt thought of cloning out the logo, but i'll give it a shot. My editing skills are still elementary, but i'll give it my best !

Yeah my initial thought on #2 is underexposed too. Also, I think it would work excellently as a gritty B&W pic. Food for thought :)

I like the second one the best and I don't think it is underexposed at all. The lighting is dramatic and the texture is really cool. I like it as is and I think I would like it just as much or more in b&w
