However I guess I should ignore him and put my money toward the next entry level Canon Full Frame cam.

Still, the x100 look so good!!

Word. That camera intrigues me WAT more than the X100. And apparently the new lenses Fuji puts out will focus more like current cameras (which means way better than they do now) :)

Yep! I owned a Fuji x100 for about two months. Sold it BC couldn't stand the AF system. IQ on it is very very impressive. Hopefully the new xe-1 is very quick or like the x pro 1. Ill be picking one up near Christmas.

The X100 doesn't have faux filters or automatically upload those intriguing shots of your dinner plate to Instamatic.

....the best camera is the one you have on you at the time.

Hehehe it's true! I am no hipster then, having never used those iphone apps...

Thanks, didn't know about the XE-1. It's a nice camera. I like the black model however I feel it lack the absolute vintage style of the x100. I would have stick a fake front viewfinder to keep the illusion alive. Maybe if you stick an older lens on it it's going to look very nice. The included 18-55 is so modern...

Can the XE-1 work with other lenses than Fuji?

eh, put your 24mm f2.8 on your rebel and it's the same thing. Minus the sex appeal to tatooed chicks, of course.

Hahaha no way, it's not the same at all! My rebel look like poo aside of the fuji... But I didn't pay 1100$ for it.

There's also the Olympus OM-D-E-M5 that is tiny sexy!

Haha I had the same dilemma a couple of months ago! It was either that or a 50L. I chose the 50 and LOVE IT but a part of me still wishes I had a smaller, compact camera like the x100 to take around.

I like the idea of a digital rangefinder or similar but in reality I wonder how much I'd actually use it. I already have two decent point & shoots that I don't use.

I dont use my older point%shoot because the IQ is crap and the cam is slow.

I have fun when I bring only 1 prime lens with me on my dslr. I believe the x100 would feel roughly the same.

Is the AF on the x100 that bad?? I though the new firmware had fixed that...

I simply use my phone because it's always with me. I feel like even the point & shoot requires a deliberate effort since it takes up the other pocket and leaves no room for my keys. Since I hate stuffing my pockets, we're in bag territory and once we're in bag territory we may as well carry the dSLR.
