Start up time is really about 45 sec but then it takes my Spyder 3 express another 30 sec to load. It took at least this long with my HD drive too. Since I only boot once a week it doesn't really matter how long it takes. I've got an i7 2600k based system with an SSD, so I don't think system speed is an issue.
