This was the first night show that I attended. Here's a few early shots.

4. A little backfire.

6. Well, this was interesting. AI Servo doesn't work in the dark, so focus was manual. Zooming was manual. It got a little busy. ; )

nice shots, i've almost started to get used to the "grey" look that are prevalent on your pictures lol

its not how you take the picture, its the final result before editing.

I answered you the first time you made that comment. As I recall, you didn't have the courtesy to reply?

Thanks, Rick! It was fun to have something besides the usual Michigan crappy light & gray skies to shoot in! ; )

They are great shots, it's a shame the backfire didn't shoot out the near-side of the engine.I really like the last and first ones.

Got stuff ;)

These are great! I tried to get some shots of the Aeroshell night performance earlier this year.

Thanks, Mat.

Tim, I was right on the edge of performance of the 20D & 70-200 f/2.8 with 1/100 & ISO 1600. #5 was with the 85mm f/1.8 which gave me a little more light gathering to work with. I probably should have used it for more of them.

That's quite cool, Frank. I can honestly say that I haven't seen a night-shot airshow before and I'm not sure I'd have been able to make it work nearly as well...:|

With your IS lenses & cleaner higher ISO on the 7D, you probably could have done a better job. It's "interesting" to shoot when you can only see a little blob of light in the viewfinder!

I wonder why there aren't more night shows? I didn't expect that when I set up the evening access. At least you were able to shoot some at sunset, which had always been on my list, too. Having some night ones come out OK was just a nice bonus.

Thanks for the comments!
