I'm waiting on it as well, though in my case, it has nothing to do with Photography. It does have something to do with whether I live past Christmas or not, though.

LUUUUUHHHH-KEEEYYYYYY!!!!!! :p Don't you just hate waiting on the UPS drivers to bring your stuff? What kills me is that every year I order stuff for X-mass. Some for me, some for others. All my stuff gets here last minute, but evrything else makes it on time, :rolleyes: :D .

Yesterday I order 85 1.2 L from BH and have them ship overnight because I have a shooting session tonight ... well brown truck came and my daughter was in the shower. I got home just to find the notice on the front door to be delivered Tues... I called and findout if I can pick it up this evening... the package is on the truck running around town and won be back until 7:00pm .

The list is getting too long..

RUSS-D, I wouldn't call it "hate waiting", it's more a likea prelude to something that you're going to really enjoy :o

What's really bad is when the brown truck goes past the house without stopping. This happens to me a lot. He then comes back later in the day. I know he knows my house because he's here a lot. We're on first name terms! :-) When he's does not pass I can count on him almost to the same minute for every delivery.

Congrats on that 28-300mm. I've always been intrigued by it yet see very few reviews on it.

haha, I had my 2 sigma lenses next day aired to me, and they were garunteed by 3. Brown showed up at 2:55. Lucky for me, I had nothing to do but sit around and anxiously wait my new glass.

Hang in there! It'll be worth the wait!

It's not even my gift to anybody. It's my friend's wife's gift to him! I ended up with the order so that it wouldn't show up on their credit card bill. She still holds wifely control over me - somewhat. She can't exercise it over a distance, but she sure can get even when I show up to visit! :)

Brown probably has a couple of different trucks that visit the neighborhood. I had a discussion with the FedEx guy when I got my big lens, and he drew out (on the box, no less) a flow chart of how Fed-Ex delivers packages. There's essentially 4 different delivery systems that FedEx runs that separate packages according to criteria such as type of material, signature requirements, home vs. business, and that kind of thing.

It isn't like they could possibly be caught off guard by the rush of packages this time of year, and yet it seems like this is a problem every year. I'm also waiting on a couple of things that were supposed to be here a couple days ago. My favorite is when they silently put a note on the door when I'm home saying that they tried to deliver and I wasn't there.

OK, the baby is here! Don't you just love the feeling of taking it out of the box... First impressions after 15 minutes:

--> not as heavy as a lot of folks complain about it, very comparible to 70-200 IS;
--> push/pull - I'll need to get used to the darn thing;
--> first few pics aren't too bad on the cam screen, though haven't uploaded them yet;
--> aperture jumps to 5 a bit too quickly in the zooming process;
--> very solid build - again, very comparible to 70-200 IS;
--> the hood is flower-shaper, unlike the 70-200 IS;
--> did I mention that I'll need to get used that push/pull mechanism ;) Any advice on how-to from 28-300 or 100-400 owners will be appreciated.

This is it for now, but tomorrow will have some pics uploaded and more impressions.

Merry Christmas!
