Years ago I used to go to a bar, and watch people walk in and leave cause it wasn't busy, but if everyone would have stayed to closing, the place would have been packed. So I figured with the amount of time and energy invested, I may as well sit it out, since it was not gonna be better anywhere else, and if you don't try, you never know.
