Hi, on a recent trip to Europe, this lens on my 7D refused to work below 16 or 17mm.

Tried it after possible step to get it working - cleaning the contact, switching off the camera, slowly moving towards 12mm instead of directly to 12mm - nothing. It also didn't work long exposures - esp night shots.

Returned 10 days back and tried the lens on my other body - the 20D. Worked fine at 12mm. I then tried it on the 7D after just a simple cleaning of the contacts- and no issues, works like it never had a problem.

Lens fatigue or issue with the 'unclean' contacts of the 7D?
