Best Value vs "The Right" 70-200 for me

I just got the mark II and I used my dads 70-200 f4 non is

I took some pix of my gf for practice. 1st day with camera...

Wow, awesome score!

I've seen a 2.8 IS mkI that low only once. I was visiting my folks, and it was about a 3 hr roundtrip so I couldn't verify the condition, but from the pix it looked pretty nice.

It's like spotting a white whale (and the lens feels like a white whale after carrying it around all day, but it's worth it).:lol:

I really lucked out, and the seller took good care of her gear. Lens body is extremely clean, hood has scratches, glass is clean, and the focus and zoom rings felt very well damped.

After a day at Willow Springs I can say that yes, it is a beast of a lens to carry but the shots were worth it...
