Do I leave the charger connected to the camera?

I just bought the A620 Powershot and the Canon AC Adapter Kit ACK500 - Power adapter.
Firstly, does this charge rechargeable batteries in the camera?, and if so is it OK to leave it charging for 3 or 4 days when not in use?

got the answer from Canon tech support.
the correct model# for the charger is CA-PS500 and it does charge the batteries in the camera and it is OK to leave connected for a few days.
