60D live view preview blackout problem

Guys,
its been around 2 weeks i am using 60d
the thing is , when i preview my last shot, (those with highly exposed sky , or too much white ) LCD viewfinder shows Black on that whites areas.
is this normal ? whenever ther's something white in the photo, it shows it Filled black.
Anyone?

If it's flashing black in the white areas then you have the clipping highlight option enabled. Basically this flashes in the areas where detail has been lost, ie, it's potentially over exposed... whilst this could be intentionally blown out, it's useful for those occasions where you want to maintain as much detail as possible. It can be turned off in the menus

I assume you are postviewing your shot, right, since you say you are viewing your last shot? So you don't use live view, but the normal viewfinder, and look at the picture on the LCD, after shooting it?
If so, the above explanation is 100% correct.

Should you actually use the LCD as a viewfinder, i.e. use live view, then you do preview the shot on the LCD. Then it's something else you are seeing. But I think it's the first case you are referring to.

Page 192 of the English manual discusses "Highlight Alert".

This is actually what is happening to me. I use the LCD as my viewfinder and when viewing the shot it shows white & black flashing patchy areas. Help.

Did you take note of anything in this thread, like page 192 of the 60D manual, if that is what you have.

When you purchase a camera from Canon, they provide a really useful accessory in a book form and made of paper.
It's called a "User Manual".
It contains lots of useful information and provided for a very good reason.
Have a look in the box and you'll see it and then read it.
Lots of trees died to make it.
Don't let their death be in vain.
