It's time to keep a watch on this web sight to monitor the turning of the leaves.....

Thanks for the reminder and link Yowzer. We were robbed of a lot of our color last year when tropical storm Irene blew thru in late August and sprayed salt, which quickly turned a lot of the area brown.

Looking forward to some color!

I just took a trip to upper Vermont to shoot Covered Bridges and you can see the leaves want to change. That is they are that color in-between green and fall colors. I would say 1-2 weeks and color should be showing at least in the far northern part of the state. Max color is most likely 3 weeks or so. I decided to shoot the bridges starting at the north and over the next few weeks working my way south. I know Irene took out several bridges, that's why I decided to shoot now before another storm takes some more.

Off to Jackson NH tomorrow for 2 nights! Hope to find some color and not too much rain, but a few days of getting away is good no matter what.

Harm
If you directed this question to me, my answer is I didn't take anything I thought was worthy of posting, but just for you I will throw a couple up on the Landscape thread. Not sure if they should be posted here.

Drove out to the North Adams area for 4 days last weekend and didn't see anything worth posting. Colors were either muted, still green or trees were bare already. Same scenario up in Maine a couple weeks back too. Hasn't been looking like a good year for foliage shots.....

It really is disconcerting to see bare trees next to ones full of green. I was hoping for a lot of vibrant color after missing it the last few years. Guess I'll just have to try again next year.

We've had some great color in the Hudson Valley (much brighter than past years), but the latest rain storm knocked a lot of leaves off. I've noticed a lot more bare trees this past week, although there still is some color to be found at lower elevations.

We were in Vermont the last weekend in September and I was surprised at how much color there was. It was quite pretty, but it rained the whole weekend. :(

Well I suspect things will change when Sandy makes her way thru the area. What is left of color will most likely be lost.

LOL. That's an understatement! At this point the best I can hope for is Sandy to blow all the leaves out of our yard so we don't have to rake them. :P
