Portable Background Systems

Hi All,

I'm looking into investing in a portable background system and am considering the following

Westcott X-Drop System http://fjwestcott.com …ckdrops/x-drop-backdrops/

I'll be photographing head and shoulder portraits of 1 to 2 people and small dogs and maybe some product photography; might want to do people groups later on (up to 4 people). I'd be setting up in small areas in people's homes i.e., living rooms, dens, offices, etc.

I'd be most appreciative of your comments regarding the pros/cons of either of these two systems for my intended usage. Portability and quick setup/knockdown are important.

The Calumet unit is nice. about 8x8 so its big in someone's living room. But it will work.
Takes a bit to get it assembled. Just came across the Westcott the other day in a post. It looks nice but will be small for more than two people.
Neither of them easily supports a simple way to add a floor "runner" which is useful, especially for product photography.

Have you bought about doing a white seamless paper and a background stand? I just bought it from calumet and I think it was just under 150 for both pieces (I got e 9 foot wide roll). This is great because it has the floor runner which I think you will want Iid you are shooting dogs.
