According to Canon Rumors: "stock levels of the 5d mk ii seem to be depleting around the globe". Better buy now before we get too much closer to the holidays.

If you don't have any issues buying used, then you will be able to easily find them for a good price. However, if you only want to buy new, then you should act quickly.

Canon Loyalty Program should have plenty of refurbished 5d mkiii's available. You know they have been thoroughly inspected and calibrated. Only unknown factor is the number of shutter actuations. I've heard of people getting one with anywhere between hundreds and tens of thousands of actuations.

I'm leery of refurbs towards the end of a cameras life cycle. While the camera is being manufactured I can see many being pulled of for QC testing, cameras failing some QC test so they are sent back for refurb and such. But towards the end of the cycle it's going to me returns. Stores sending back demos, loaners, unhappy customer returns and such. I would think that towards the end of the cycle there is a lot more risk with a referb.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.
