Anyone keeps his 85 1.8 + 135 f2L on top of his 70-200 2.8L II for compactness ?

I tend to keep my 85 1.8 & 135 f2L on top on my 70-200 2.8L II when I want to stay compact.
I bought both for modelling/portraits.

But IQ wise (fastness/bokeh), 70-200 2.8LII beats both I guess or is the same if you don't need the faster stops?
I know f1.8 and f2 have smoother bokeh, but normally I should be able to get this through the zoomfactor of the 70-200 also, between 135-200mm right?

I'm doubting to change my setup to : 16-35 2.8L II, 24-70 2.8L, 35L, 70-200 2.8L II so with only 1 fast 1.4L lens.
The only thing I doubt is if I would sell my Canon 15 2.8 Fisheye if I would get the 16-35 2.8L II as it's only 1mm difference,
and the barel distortion of the fisheye isn't so exagerated, it's no real heavy fisheye effect.

I have the same lenses and kept the 85/135 for walk around, and when I need a faster lens, which is fairly often. I'm perfectly happy with the IQ of all 3 lenses, no matter which one is actually sharper/contrastier. They all deliver the goods.

And yes, the zoomfactor could give you less DOF but at the cost of a different perspective, if that is what you want. You may also not have the room to back up far enough. So, longer glass is not a substitute for faster glass, in this case, imo.

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

Well the 85 1.8 is easier to dump than the perfect 135L :)

Never seen any CA wide open with the 135L, the purple fringing of the 85 1.8 sometimes sucks, I know you even have this with the most expensive fast f1.2L's, but I'd rather have a bit less fast and no purple fringing.

At the moment I don't have a standardzoom (sold 24-70 to fund 70-200 2.8L II), that's why I was considering to sell 1 or 2 lenses and re-buy 24-70 2.8L.

But I just saw that Tamron 28-70 2.8 performs very well (some copy's even better than Canon's 24-70 and it's very cheap). I would also have no problem re-buying the old Canon 28-70 2.8L which I had in past, costed only €600 second hand and also superb!

So maybe I sell 85 1.8 only and together with some spare cash I buy a cheaper f2.8 standardzoom.
