I bought my 60D during the 20% off refurbs and was totally psyched about it! It had a little over 100 actuations, but even that's not too bad. No dings or scratched on the body whatsoever, and everything looked brand new as far as I could tell.

The only thing I found wrong on my refurb 60D from Canon was the small pinhole next to the serial number which identified it as a refurb. I decided to live with that "undocumented" feature in exchange for saving several hundred dollars.

It came through with about 45 clicks on it by the way - essentially new1

Ah ah, so that's what that tiny hole in the label by the serial number means.

I bought my refurbished 60d back in July. Had dropped my 40D and insurance company did not think it was worth it to fix it. 60D has 51 clicks on arrival and not a single mark on it. Has been working great since I got it.

NO THEY ARE NOT!!!

My work had bought 2 7D's on REFURB. The WB is always off about a 25 point spread on 1. We sent it to Canon to get fixed. It was the exact same when it came back. Had a Rebel from there also died at 60K clicks.......ahahah

I have a refurb Canon XT (350D) from 2005. It has been my skydive camera that sits on my helmet unprotected and goes through rain, clouds, snow, haze, and humid conditions. It probably has 200,000+ actuations and has earned me thousands of dollars.
