My grandson's reaction when I told him Santa was almost here. Unforunately he was bouncing all over the place...thus the cut off head and less than stellar quality.. But I still love his expressions.

My little girl won't stop talking about it. She has been using creative math all week to let us know how few days are left.

Let me know how you set this up if you get a chance. I have been playing with lighting all week to try and get the lights on the tree to show up. You did a good job here.

Sam: I shot with my 135mm and my 420EX. AV 4.0, ISO 200. I was literally chasing him around the tree with the camera..... three year olds are not good picture subjects but it doesn't stop me from trying.

Wow, at f/4 and I am guessing a shutter speed of over 100 you got some good light off the tree. Mine couldn't compete when I had the shutter that fast. Maybe you have 100 watt bulbs on your tree :D

He was about 2 feet from the tree and I was about 6 feet from him. I only had one overhead light on but I set a custom white balance which I find very helpful.

Great shots Maureen. I love how kids can't deal with periods of time, like the day after tomorrow or two days from now. My granddaughter use to say "after this day?" She's a little older now.

Catch them while you can.

Maureen, I recognized your grandson before I recognized you with your new avatar. I love the second one but they are all great shots.

#2 is very nice. I'm trying to remember the times you've captured him looking directly at the camera.

Anyway, the anticipation is written all over his face. I'm sure he thinks that Christmas can't come soon enough. :) :)

Best Regards

Steve

Maureen, these are great. I'm a well established head chopper, too - join the club. Personally, I don't mind the head chopping, the top of head doesn't show his emotion anyway. And Merry Christmas to you, Skip, and the rest of your family!
