USPS Lost My Package!

After finally finding a 5Dc deal that worked out, and impatiently waiting and tracking my package through the USPS website, it wasn't delivered. It has it marked that it has been, but no package ever got sent to my house. I figured maybe since it was a Saturday that the guy marked it as delivered and then was going to bring it back Monday, but I received nothing today either. I've never had something like this happen to me using USPS, but of course it does when it's the thing I want most coming...

The seller is going to call USPS and I'm going to as well to open a claim, but this blows.
Has anybody else had a bad experience with them?

and then they resend it by UPS not USPS
and everything ok

USPS is just horrible. Sorry that it had to happen on a fairly expensive item.
Sometimes it pops up a couple days later!

I've mostly had good luck with USPS itself. The one time a package went missing was when it was shipped via Fedex Smartpost. Somewhere in transit from the Fedex facility to delivery to the local USPS office the package was lost. The tracking showed delivery to the local USPS, but the folks I know personally at the post office confirmed it wasn't in the bin that got delivered by Fedex. Amazon quickly reshipped the lost items and all was good.
