How do i take a photo of another photo?

I have a photo that i do not have the digital file or negative to. I wanted to duplicate this photo by taking another photo of it without the reflections......what is the best way to do this?

I have also tried taking pictures of pictures (and in magazines) as well with very limited satisfaction. I am interested in responses to this query. Thank you.

put it in a scanner and scan at the highest setting you got.

i just put my (poloriod) photo on the ground then pointed a flash straight up and got a decent result

Your 70-200 will focus fairly close, so I'd try that first. Or if you only need to copy one, take it to a business store & have them scan it. Otherwise... Copying old portraits

It's quite simple really.

Using diffuse window light, stick the photo on a wall, but being careful the photo is parallel to the camera's sensor. Your verticals need to be vertical and horizontals need to be horizontal. Camera on a tripod (shutter remote helps heaps) at 100 ISO and use a prime lens (if you have one) at around f/8. Macro primes work best. If you have an incident light meter use that, otherwise take a meter reading in manual and bracket your exposure a stop either side of the reading.

Here are a couple I did a few years ago. Both prints were on glossy 16x20 inch paper. Both were taken using a Tamron SP 90mm f/2.8 Macro.
