Does anyone know of any aftermarket grids for softboxes? I've got Interfit lighting and would like to fit some grid mesh to prevent light spill but I can't seem to find any. Interfit do a small set of softboxeswith a grid and a couple of templates but they're not quite what I'm looking for.

I'm even thinking of buying a roll of ribbon and making my own, but that's a lot of work, but may be what I have to do to achieve the effect I want.

Any help appreciated,

Phil

Dear PHIL1664,

You have probably already looked at the obvious sources, but depending on which size & shape (square/rectangular/octa) softboxes you had in mind and the effect you wish to achieve, there are always these…

Given your location - UK based LASTOLITE:

http://www.lastoliteschoolofphotography.com/using-a-grid-on-a-softbox (external link) (19:08 minute video)
(I have the 24” & 30” ones, which are good quality, for my square Lastolite EZYbox softboxes; and quite effective particularly if want to create a dramatic image)

And you have already perused the INTERFIT:

MISC OTHERS:

(My Profoto 1ft x 3ft and Westcott 1ft x 3ft fabric grids for my studio hair lights, while very durable and withstand more heat are a bit stiffer, than the more flexible Lastolite)

Also, what about strobe grids?
depending on your desired image, if you are open to the idea of ditching the softbox; these just on the end of a strobe, are compact, nifty and also work great when wanting to artistically and precisely light a specific area of an image:
STROBE 10 degree “mesh” grid-

STROBE 20 degree “mesh” grid-

or perhaps depending on the diameter of your Interfit strobe,
an Interfit 7"(13cm) reflector [Mfr# RF5003]:

with perhaps this Interfit Grid [Mfr# AH6020]:

Good luck.
