I'm just curious if anyone here has the Lighttools stretch frame and grids (30 degrees in particular) for the 39" deep octa or 28" baby deep octa. When I got the baby DO, I was thinking about how nice it would be to have the 30 degree Lighttools grid to go with it, effectively making it a small, lightweight, portable light with similar properties to a gridded beauty dish of similar size (like my Mola Setti). They only had grids for the 39" DO for a while, and that was less interesting to me, but now they're offering a stretch frame and grids for the baby DO. Only the price makes me cringe, and I'm not one to cringe easily about such things (if you look at my gear list). The baby DO was like $270 (USD). The Lighttools stretch frame and 30-degree grid cost is $477. The $114 for the stretch frame doesn't seem too outlandish, but $363 for the egg crate grid just has me shaking my head. If anyone bit the bullet and has examples they can show, it might make it easier to consider. I know there are cheaper alternatives out there. I'm just wondering if anyone has the Lighttools setup. Thanks.

I have it for the 39" DO.

It's a beautiful grid, i have examples but none with just one light to really show the effects. I bought it for isolating the subject from the background when using 3-4 lights.

It was a hard pill for me to swallow as well. But man... is it worth it. Truly is the best quality grid product i've ever used. The face of the grid remains 100% flat. That's pretty impressive. I'd love to pick one up for the 74" one as well... but it's a 'want' not a 'need' like it was for the 39".
