Any of you guys know if this fits the EF300L version I?
I hate the leather cap of the original model, and use a Lenscoat replacement, but this doesn't work if you travel with the hood reversed.
Many thanks if any of you can help

Anyone aware of a third party copy that doesn't cost eighty quid like the official Canon Canon E-145 C Lens Cap? James

I would suggest getting some neoprene wet suit material and some velcro and making exactly what you want. My guess is that will be quicker, cheaper and easier that trying to find something already made.

The Hoodie actually seems like a great solution. They recommend the XX Large for this lens; the lens hood is 5.75" diameter on each end so it's right in the middle of the stated range of 5.5 to 6.25 whether the hood is normal or reversed. It's not clear to me if the cover has a notch to fit over the hood clamp, but for $17.50 I can make a hole if it needs one. Without the hood the lens is about 5.25" so if you want to carry the lens that way you might want to try the X Large, which has a stated diameter range of 4.75-5.25. I suppose a potential downside to the Hoodie (and an advantage for the Etsy product) is that the hoodie may be flexible enough to be pushed in and contact the front element which is 3/4" recessed from the front rim of the lens. Image editing and C&C always OK
