I'm asking for a little help. Can a couple of you take a look at some of the images and let me know how the color looks on your monitors - http://www.mediafire.com/?m47aef16ou82g (external link) I just got the prints in and they're off compared to my monitor. Last time this happened my video card settings had gotten screwed up. The prints almost appear as they were in AdobeRGB. Thanks.

The images look fine to me. I downloaded the last one of the two boys and it's tagged sRGB and the color looks very natural when I open it in PS CS5. Brightness and contrast seemed fine for the image. If anything it's maybe a third of a stop underexposed.

If you download the test images from this site and view them in PS you should be able to get a reasonable idea as to how far off your monitor is (if at all).

If the test images look fine then there's a possibility that your print lab caused the issue. I had problems once when allowing a lab to do auto corrections (auto brightness, contrast, color). They'd pretty much reverse every edit I did in PS. :)

Thanks Bob for taking time to check and the link. I've used another site that has some decent online calibration images and things looked pretty good. Prints from the lab usually show just a tad darker but nothing major and color is pretty close. I always turn off the lab's color correction and the paperwork included shows "do not color correct". GF looked at the prints and said they look fine, but she wasn't comparing them to the monitor version. I think I'll get a couple reprints just to see, may even use another lab.

Of course, it may be time to invest in a calibration system as my old eyes may be playing tricks! ;)
