My Mark IV needed cleaning so I took the plunge for $100 and joined CPS Gold. You get 2 free "clean and checks" as part of the membership so that's why I joined. But there's more it turns out....

Nice medium size FedEx box waiting for me today with all sorts of bonus stuff. I got a sweet looking camera strap that says Canon and CPS. I'll use that. Canon lens cleaning cloth. Ill throw that into the pile of microfiber cloths. A "CPS" pin! Not sure what to do with that. Got a new lens dust cap and new camera cover cap. Can't hurt to have extras. Got this hard cover book called "EF Lens Work III - The Eyes of EOS". This is actually a sweet book. I'm digging that. 271 pages coffee table book all about EOS lenses, photos, technical stuff. Nice. Got an EOS catalog and then of course my membership card, clean & check coupons, Gold Rush Repair pre-printed shipping labels and more....

I'm pretty impressed. I think its a good deal $50 per cleaning return postage included.

If you sell that CPS strap for $50 than both your check and cleans come out to $25/per :p I sold mine no doubt!

Love CPS though. The speedy repairs are awesome.

It sure is a nice kit! I was actually able to use the EF lens work book for a physics class project - the info in there is really good.

I'll buy the pin from you, seriously. PM me if you'd like to get rid of it.

looks like bling, isn't the real benefit on pricing or turnaround if you have to send gear in for repair?

Its all bling. For me the benefit is the 2 free cleanings per year because there must be a hoover in my mirror assembly picking up dust.
