I upgrade every year. I like having the Pro service so I am not limited to the number of photos I can upload and see.

I've had Flickr Pro for a long time and I don't know if I'll renew it or not this next time. I'm just not using it as much as I used to and the fact that they have no provision for actually changing your username/url means I'd have to start over on a new account. I already have a new, free one and I don't need it to store great quantities of images and don't much feel like paying them as much out spite as indifference.

I had Flickr pro and left. I wanted something with more customization on layout and disliked flickr's links and tags. I wanted people to see my photos in a manner I liked without a lot of extra junk like yahoo banners keywords etc.. Plus I wanted password protected galleries for when I did portraits and the individual did not want their photos in a public gallery etc...

I ended up going with smugmug the base version was only $15 a year more and I had a coupon for half off my first year.

I could not imagine going back to Flickr after the joy of having my own dedicated site with no limits and custom layouts.

You can't change your URL, but can change username( the one other see) as often as you wish.

I use to pay for the pro account, but it now come free as part of my ISP package, I find the stats part of the pro account very useful.

I like Flickr Pro a lot for what it is. Just keep in mind that it's not a customizable landing page or an interface that lends itself to being an online portfolio or to selling images. It's a pretty fair deal for what it is if you just need an easy way to store, share and display photos.
You probably need to use it in conjunction with another service or standard website if you're wanting professional use or selling images.

I'm aware, it is effectively useless.

I have my own website...and shoot and post a LOT of photos of local games and events. I ended up using Flickr to host my galleries where I just link to them from my site. It has worked out well for me. www.tonycorsoimages.com (external link)

I decided to go with zenfolio rather than upgrade my flickr. My flickr stays, but I only upload resized photos there anyway.

I use Zenfolio for the small amount of paid work I do in photography.

I use Flickr to host stuff for my extended family. I don't mind sharing it but it is mostly personal stuff and should not be interpreted as a portfolio.

Flickr is OK as a file sharing and backup site. I don't think it cuts the mustard as a hosting site for any kind of professional photographer.

I use the Flickr Pro. For what I do it serves my needs. When it becomes necessary I may see what other services offer a better deal or at least better presentation.

I like flickr pro for me since I just shoot when I got the time. If I had some type of photo business then I would maybe look elsewhere, but for now it's cool. I also sold a photo to someone directly and got a bunch of photos in getty up for sale due to flickr so I guess that's a bonus. :p

Exactly. Flickr is great as an image host and to me it's worth the small fee to remove the various limits that are placed on the free account. The lack of customization, lack of control and lack of useful stats make it a poor choice as a business site.

Other than a basic hit count, what do you find useful about them?
