... and I don't think the birds even like this hour of the day.

I think this was my best photo of the morning, the double barred finch is pretty much lit by my flash, the background is my neighbours mango tree in flower lit by the morning sun. These are done with a borrowed 7D, all these photo's have the ISO @ 1250 and I've used a flash with a better beamer on it to illuminate the birds. If these little guys keep showing up I should be able to practice on them a bit. Unfortunetly I don't have a good spot in my yard for natural light photography either early or late in the day. I may need to play around with some off camera flashes to try and soften the flash light up a bit and use a narrower aperture, I find the out of focus feathers at the front of the bird a bit distracting in this photo. A male olive backed sunbird landed just behind this guy moments before this shot but I missed it. The bird feeder hangs off my clothesline, the perch in this photo.

The bulk of the time they were into the feed, not too worried by me sitting out in the open 5 metres away, still feel I should be much closer ...

Lovely shots Brian.

#1 could equally be captioned "who turned the lights out?" :)
