Excellent images as usual but what is this recent trend of over-sharpening of the images to the extend of poping ahead of merit of image? Or is it only me feeling this way??

The Hawaiian Islands have had some of the biggest swells to hit their shores for decades roll in this Winter. Some places were getting 40 foot plus faces, but unfortunately I missed them.

I was in Kauai when the first massive swell of the season hit the North Shore & Maui (Jaws). When the second massive swell hit, my wife and I had jumped Islands from Kauai over to Maui, but we were committed to a whale watch cruise the day the second swell hit so I missed out on that one too.

They were apparently some of the biggest and meanest waves to hit the islands for years, and sadly, one of the locals disappeared and drowned after a big wipeout at Haleiwa.

These are two of my favourite shots from the North Shore.
