Hi All

New to the digital cameras and my pictures from the T3I looks about as good as my little cool pix point and shoot camera pictures, I use to have a 35 mm (film) SLR camera back years ago (80's) and I could make pictures pop of the page with deepth of field, used a little light meter (still going today) and it worked great, But this digital camera and all it bells and whistles is mind boggling. I look at the pictures posted here and I see models that look like they are right in front of the camera are these pictures taken as close to the models as they can be to fill the view finder or are they telephoto lense.
I know probably most of the pictures here are done with the best photographic equipment available, thus making my T3I's photos look like a point and shoot camera, But the T3I should put my cool pix camera to shame.

I have noticed that most pictures, excluding the high resulation photos here, just don't look right on my laptop computer, could that be one of my problems as to why my pictures don't look good?

Thanks
Don

I would suggest that you start posting up photos in the proper sub-forums and asking for specific help to achieve the look that you're going for. The camera you have is certainly capable :)
