You mean to tell me in the entire photo archive of lens samples we don't have a thread for Canon's OLDEST EOS lens? Is it that obscure?

I just got mine today, hood and everything, and shot a rather beautiful Florida sunset with it so I will be sure to generate some samples this weekend with my 5D, but for those of you who aren't in the know

New additions!! I was going to plunk down the cash for the 28-70L but since I use this lens mostly in daylight I've decided to keep it for front line duty. I love this damn thing!! Plus it takes cheap 52mm filters, can't lose!

A couple more.

Both of these are f8 or better. Wide open it's impressive and still retains much of the sharpness.

One more before bed, it's even decent at f4 with a bounceflash

Link because full resolution, and it does have a pretty heavy noise reduction because ISO 1600 but there's still plenty of detail.

It's work-safe, just some buds having a great time at the bar

I just bought one of these lens last night, not had a good play with it yet, but hoping the reviews are right on it, and its a cracking little lens for the money.

Let me know your thoughts Jon. I bought one awhile ago, but still undecided. I think I'm too used to primes. :)

Don't get me wrong, this lens has a lot to offer. Mine just doesn't see much use anymore since I got a 17-55... that 2.8 aperture is nice :-) But this lens got me started!

So far, as indoor goes, im liking the results. Need to go outside now and do some test shots.
