what the title says, list your 5 lenses (does not have to be the ones you have right now.. can be any lens) which you'd ideally like to have when shooting a wedding.

Can be less than five if you wish.

No macro? (for ring shots)

shoot, forgot about that! yes, 100L Macro, or the regular 100mm f/2.8 will suffice. Sigma 105mm f/2.8 macro is a good alternative. extension tubes on the 24-70 will work nicely too.

you might also want a 15mm fisheye, but thats a specialty lens and may or may not work depending on your shooting style.

I'm pretty darn happy shooting weddings with;

1. 24L II
2. 50L
3. 70-200L II
4. 100L Macro
5. 10-22/16-35 for wide angle shots

FF 24-70 2.8, 70-200 L IS 2.8, 100 L Macro
CF 17-55 IS 2.8, Tokina 11-16 F2.8 (also use on FF at 16).

Although if I can have 6, then the 50 1.4 comes out on occasion too.

35 f/1.4 L (24 f/1.4 L II on crop respectively) and 70-200 f/2.8 L IS II. And maybe 135 2.0 L (85 f/1.2 L II on crop), but I would not want to carry more lenses with me during a wedding (being all alone all the time - I am not a professional photographer).

Beyond the ones already listed, what about a tilt shift rather than an ultra wide angle? If you are shooting inside or near a cathedral or church it may be useful for correcting the lines of the building.

Never heard of anyone using a tilt shift at a wedding. Very specialist lens and I can't image you'd have time to play about with it. Never tried one myself

70-200mm f/2.8L IS II
24-70mm f/2.8L
85mm f/1.2L
16-35mm f/2.8L

other than the first two, I can't say that any of the other are absolutely mandatory. So after the 24-70mm you can mix and match, but 3&4 make up a great set of lenses and then you can chose a fifth or you can make sure you have something else that is just as important as a good set of lenses. A very good set up for off camera flash.

If you don't have off camera flash often you can get away with bounce, but for the price of a 16-35, you can get two Speedlite 600s and a ST-E3 and have a great set up for lighting.

Tilt-shifts are actually a pretty common lens to be found in a wedding photographer's bag. Usually it's the 45 or 90 though, for portraits.

70-200L Mk II
24-70L Mk II
16-35L Mk II

That's kind of the base...add some good primes from there if you like. I don't have the 24-70L Mk II yet but I keep a Canon 17-55mm on my 7D most of the time and that's another good lens if you have a cropper. I have a 100mm Macro for stuff as well.

Basically if you have the 24-200mm range covered on a full frame you are pretty good to go.

Each to their own I guess. I certainly don't think its in the 'must' list as per the op's request but always interested to hear what other people use.

will the 24-105 and 17-40 suffice, used on a 5D III? After all, it has at least 1 stop better low light performance than the mark II and 7D.

5D III, R7
Sigma 14-24 2.8, 17-40L, 70-200 2.8L IS(v1), 24L(v1) 35 2, 40 2.8, 50L, 85LII, 135L, 100 2.8 macro, MP-E 65, Sigma 15 2.8 FE, 600 f4 II, MT-24 EX, 580EX, 430EX
