Thanks Damian, it sums up the Lakes for me too.
It was the highlight of a "dreech" (wet and miserable) day when I saw the sunlight break through on the Langdale Valley beneath me.
Moments like this make it all worth while.


The peak in question is to the right ( I think it may be Pike O' Stickle ?!)

Is a 'Stickle' another term for peak or something? I have never seen it referenced so on this side of the pond. I looked it up in the dictionary but found nothing along that line. Just curious.

Not sure Jim.
It's not widely used here either. Might just be a Cumbrian thing but I can't think of any other Cumbrian Hills with Stickle attached, other than Great Stickle near Broughton in Furness but that's just 305 metres high.
