How to trigger 1DmkIIn with PW and get AF?

I've got some pocketwizard plus units and a pre-release cable along with my 1dmkIIN. I thought this combination would basically replace the need to get a remote trigger. However, I'm having a problem: In some cases, I would like the camera to auto-focus before it operates the shutter. Unfortunately, it seems like once I press the test button on the PW transmitter, it always fires the shutter immediately, without auto-focus.

Is there a custom/personal function that will force the camera to attain focus before it triggers the shutter? I've been scouring the manual and don't seem to find anything. I tried setting PF 16 but that didn't seem to help. I also changed CF4 back to 0 thinking that might have caused the problem. It's in one-shot mode, and if I press the shutter fully (and quickly) it will focus prior to taking the shot. Why do the PW triggering not do the same?

Thanks for any advice,

Bob

Very shorly... you can't. You have to prefocus and use PW only for trigger. That's it.

Thanks, I was afraid that might be the case. Anyone have any experience with those inexpensive remotes sold on ebay? Would they allow focusing remotely of a 1dmkIIn? (description says they do...) Not sure if they have the N3 style connector, guess I need to ask the seller on that one.
