Sounds about right for Texas...

Think new Canon lenses are overpriced? Lots (and lots) of data will set you free!

Not that it changes the gist of the story, but it sounds like this was actually a cell phone camera and not a stand along camera? How would you like to have your cell taken and wiped, then not given back for days just for taking legal photos?

Unless they just deleted photos only, in which case I would think that the files could be recoverable with software anyway?

Guess we cannot expect the very same people who felt it necessary to use 41 shots to stop someone to apply good judgement when it comes to handling cameras/phones that may show them in a different light. Lucky the photographer did not run!!

Well if any one of you armchair cops should care this is not the way it happened..This is just one mans biased opinion to spread lies from his cop haters web site....I won't be led off a cliff.

I'd bet the deleted files were deleted by the officers...not a computer tech. There are multiple programs that could recover the deleted files.

The department is probably broke now. Have any of you priced ammunition lately? Good grief.

Note to self-don't bring my camera to Texas.

Have a wheelie nice day!

I bet the cops thought about the possibility of recovering the files and purchased an identical sd card and just copied the files from the previous card to the new card, ergo preventing data recovery. 4 days is plenty to find an sd card and flash it onto another.

sad story to tell you the truth how cops keep getting away with tampering and destroying evidence.

Doubt it. Most people don't know you can recover deleted files. Plus, these guys don't come off as being that smart.
