I have a 60D and want to go fullframe
my choices are a 5d and 5dii
the 5d is about $1000 cheaper, buying used over a refurb 5dii
what will i be giving up by getting a 5dc and not the 5dii?

If its a stretch, the 5dc is awesome too. The LCD on the classic sucks a lot, the menus feel ancient, and sometimes it's nice to go up to 6400 iso, but the iq on the classic is still great. -Adam

Who uses their "menus" past the first few hours of getting their camera? When I get a new camera, I set up whatever custom functions I want, and then only use the menu to change from jpg to raw, or format my cards. What else exactly is there on the menus of a camera that is so important? Seriously asking here. Same here. I also use it for custom white balance, not much else.

It's a huge factor when shooting with a camera that doesn't have auto sensor cleaning. This was implemented in all of canon's cameras after the 5d mark I. Flickr

To tell the truth if I only take pictures, there is no need for magic lantern. Fuji XE-1, Zeiss ikon, Hasselblad; I love shooting film as a conceptual idea

Sep 15, 2012 18:54 | #13 thanks for the replies. the 5D is about a $1000 cheaper right now than a 5d2, thatwill allow me to essentially trade my 60D for the 5D and a sell off the 10-22 for a 17-40L and be set with the other lenses. if i get the 5d2 i need to sell off the 60D, Tammy 28-75 and the 10-22 to break even. so now extra cash for the 17-40L. Don't you find live view useful for wide shots? That's why I got the 10-22 instead of the 17-40.

The 18 megapixel APS-C sensor performs as well as the 5Dc's sensor in most conditions, often better. The 60D has much lower high ISO noise in spite of being a crop, though the 5Dc has a bit more sharpness. Canon 5D Mark III - Leica M240
