can anyone recomend a decent color profile to set for this printer at the moment its set to adobeRGB 1998 Not realy got a clue about any of this.

Rob,
Without getting too technical, aRGB is the working space that you could use when working in PS (or sRGB for that matter). For your printer you have to use the printer's profiles that relate to the paper you are using.
