Like the title states. I've been thinking of selling my sigma 150/500 and see if I could get a sharper lens. Was looking at the Canon 100/400L .
Any thoughts on this?

artyman Sleepless in Hampshire More info | Sep 16, 2012 18:36 | #2 It depends what your copy is like and also what any particular 100-400 was like. My Siggy was nice and sharp. Are you sure it's your lens and not technique before you go mad and get on the lens swap treadmill in the vain search for that perfect one. Art that takes you there. http://www.artyman.co.uk

For when you cant get close to the subject I did air show shots, and they were eh. It depends on how far you are. Having 500mm at hand will not magically produce super high resolution images of far away subjects. It has its limits. If you are too far....move closer. That is a basic rule of photography, even with a super tele zoom. Gear: a toothed wheel

Sep 16, 2012 20:59 | #11 yup hand held. As far as technique goes. I normally shot on a exhale, if I can lean on something I do. I had the ISO bumped up for much fast shutter. Canon R10 , Canon RF 100-400

Sep 16, 2012 21:05 | #13 soft as sin for the most part, I have some posted on my site in my sig. I have a few good ones, that I ran thru sharpening. It just seems some shots need tons more sharpening and they get over processed.
