So only 1 SD card, not dual option, got rid of the amazing joystick in the back?! Really Canon? Massive fail.

Order that D600 already. :)

They say it does not support the EF-S lenses

"Canon EF lenses (except EF-S and EF-M lenses)"

what does that mean??

Lenses with white dot marks on the mount will not fit (EF-S http://www.canon.co.uk …EF_Lenses/EF-S/index.aspx (external link) )
Lenses with red dots will.

If you look at the picture of the body, there is only a red dot locator.

Whereas this 650D has both red and white

I'm very much a novice like you. I think at first glance the spec looked quite poor but if you take it for what it is, an entry in to full frame, then I think it looks.... ok.

I really thought that theh next time Canon announced a new body, that it would be something that would absolutely blow us away. Rather, this just seems to be something middle-of-the-road that is designed to fit into a given price point.

Does anyone feel that this is going to completely blow away any camera that they've ever used before? At an affordable price point? I don't think so. That's why so many are disappointed.

Now, if it produces just as clean of an image as the 1Dx at ISO 3200, I mean so clean that it appeases the pixel-peepers to the same degree that the 1D images does, then I will eat my words. But I don't think we can expect that. The 5D3 doesn't deliver that kind of performance, and it's significantly more costly . . . so why would Canon put that kind of awesomeness into a $2000 body?

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

How close are they to Fukashima?

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

Nah I'm very happy with my 5D2 ;) Not sure when I will have the money to upgrade my camera. Even then the 5D3 is on my list.

The 5D mk II is actually a better camera at a lower price. With the 6D I will have to buy a bunch of ND filters for my fast lenses to be able to shoot in broad day light because of the 1/4000s shutter speed then I will have to buy SD cards while it still has a similarly crappy AF system as the 5D II. Thank you very much!

Not a fan of the 5D 2. Although the 5D3 will be a better option.

All Canon had to do was release a 5DIIn model, with newer processor, same great sensor, and updated AF system. Win. Instead they botched the 6D model badly.

The 6D is below the 5D line... it's not intended to be an upgrade for 5D2 users.

As has been stated previously, these features are available........... on the 5D mkIII. So the options are i. save for the higher spec or ii. buy in at the 6D level. If, of course you don't fancy the move to Nikon.

Do you honestly expect any company to put two vastly differing spec'd products at the same price point?

Gear still the same. Wife drops in now and again though .

doesn't look bad to me, could not care less what Nikon or Sony does, I'm not made of money and won't switch gear, I don't even look at specs for other brands, don't quite get why some do and get their panties all bunched up?

I'm still on crop, and I think I'll save up for the 5DIII and see what else they might announce. I'll have to get a new lens too since my lovely 17-55 doesn't fit ff. But I'm also not in a rush, see what prices we'll get around xmas or early next year.

Seems like no camera ever will have all I'd like and none I don't like, nor do I expect it.

I am wondering about something like the RED cameras though, which will work with my (or any) lenses.

40D, 5D3, a bunch of lenses and other things

Exactly. People want the 5D 3 but, it's still too pricey for some. I would just wait for the price drop even further.

The 6D is basically replacing the 5D2 on the "entry level". So yes removing basic features that have been present in such cameras for last 10+ years is idiotic. Simply because it has a joystick and dual card options will not rob sales from the 5D3.

The 5D2 was already in the low $2000 range ever since the 5D3 came out. Now you release another came for the same price but removed major features, but kept same crippled features. Doesn't make any kind of sense. Why waste more R&D and marketing costs to produce an inferior product?
