Ok, I'm scared for real now. There's 1000 chinese fishing boats sailing right now to the Senkaku islands. If anything happen to any of these idiots, it's going to be open war. Talk about pouring oil on fire...

I hope I'll be alive next week!

Canon 6D | S35mm f1.4 | 135mm f2 The rest: T3i, 20D, 15mm f2.8, 15-85mm, 24mm f2.8, 50mm f1.8, 85mm f1.8, 90mm f2.8 macro, 55-250mm.
So long and thanks for all the fish

And I thought we argue about stupid stuff. Going to war over over uninhabited islands. Boy, I hope cooler heads prevail.

50D > 60D? The 50D did have quite a few things in it that made it better for some people than the 60D and it was being cleared out at a fantastic price that for a while made it a very good deal

You can pick up used 1-series bodies for the price of Rebels or xxD cams... They can in some ways be far superior

Outshine meaning better IQ, ISO performance, AF. The things that matters when it comes to images. Comparing apples to apples im sure the images out of a 60d are better then my 40d. Just like the 5d II is an improvement over the 5d and the mark III is an improvement over the mark II. Having nothing to compare the 6d too, I say it will produce better images than the mark II. ;)

That's a bold, bold claim with none of us having seen any real samples (Canon's don't count). Not even the 5DIII's image quality is "way better than" the 5DII. Why are we suddenly thinking the 6D will buck the trend? Meet up again in a few months to see if your crystal ball was right? If you're right that's the USP for the 6D right there, AF and all other shortcomings be damned.

Oh I am sure it is. But then people seem to think that a camera that's 4 years old is still going to be better than a camera that's just been released.

despite the fact that the 6D will have lower noise at ISOs the 5d2 can't do let alone handle. or the AF (which people seem to be making bold statements that's it's not any better than the 5d2) with out it being tested or the fact that it can focus better in low light. Or lets not forget that the sensor technology behind the 6d is going to be better than the 5d2. so lets add these things together, a new sensor that's will be designed differently and a faster digic processor to reduce noise with a new AF system. that's a lot of new things added to a new camera that will out perform a camera that's 4 years old.

People are just upset that Canon hasn't made something ground breaking. but that's the problem today, we expect a new product will always be ground breaking. sorry folks it's always going to be an evolution of tech, never something new.

One thing that is 100% guarantee, this camera will take photos and in the hands of a good photographer they will be great photos.

not sure about that considering China is our largest importer/exporter. I say the safest is just to remain neutral.

On a side note, does the 6D have better sealing than 7D? does it have the same sensor than the 5D3?

ok, i only made it the first few pages ...

so, does this have touch to focus or not?
what about just plain touchscreen?

i'm never switching to Nikon, so i'm not talking about that

ok from my point of view:

- the single cross type AF actually doesn't matter to me, coming from the 5D2.
- i love that they use the LP-E6
- what i don't get is the price. assuming this is 2.1k. current online prices for the 5D2 is 1.8k all new. if i needed a second body, i'm actually torn on which to get.
- i want 5D3 features, but don't like the price tag. i just want a second FF body that does 6400 without post NR necessary. i also don't consider the 5D3 because of it's issue with the 200 f/2 ... i won't send a perfectly working lens to canon

if canon had put ANY of these in the 6D, it would have been an easy sell to me:
-touch to focus
-continuous AF on video
-popup flash
-a few more cross type AF points
^c'mon these are 650D features
-if it were priced in the 1500 range

i'm still willing to get this though:
- for the size and weight
- if it performs better than the 5D2 in the ISO noise department

+1... but tell that to my wife and kids...

On the tv right now footage of Panasonic factories burning in China. Few years back, the Chinese government begged Panasonic to go there to help the local economy...

I'm really really depressed. It's really not fair. The Japanese are still very nice and helpful to chinese tourists here. They know it's only politics.

China never gived a dam about the islands until oil was discovered in the 70's.

Are Canon camera still made in Japan? Canon factories are closing too in China. Hopefully it's only inkjet printers...

EDIT: ok, sorry. Back on topic! 6D wouhouuu!
