Outshine meaning better IQ, ISO performance, AF. The things that matters when it comes to images. Comparing apples to apples im sure the images out of a 60d are better then my 40d. Just like the 5d II is an improvement over the 5d and the mark III is an improvement over the mark II. Having nothing to compare the 6d too, I say it will produce better images than the mark II. ;)

In no way is the 60D IQ superior to 40D.

Also, the 60D can't even MFA Canon's no-QC lenses. The 50D was always the superior camera to the 60D.

The only canon DSLR I want to give it a try is 5D3. 6D to me doesn't make sense given it is not much different from 5DII.

Correct, Which makes me wonder if the events there might delay the 6D or be the reason the 6D isnt shipping until december...

The D600 is possibly produced in Taiwan, I believe thats where Nikon consumer bodies are made...

Are Canon camera still made in Japan? Canon factories are closing too in China. Hopefully it's only inkjet printers...

Yeah, though some lenses are now made in Thailand.
No doubt many components in the Canon cameras come from China though.

Most likely for point and shoots, not high precision DSLRs.

No built in flash (not a deal breaker).

Probably will be for me. The way I shoot I sometimes need flash but I don't want to walk around with my flash unit always attached to my camera. And putting it on and taking it off is not an option as I would miss to many spontaneous shots. I'm disappointed.

Are there any projections yet on how clean and free of noise the images are at higher ISOs, such as 3200 and 6400.
If it rivals the new 1Dx in just this one area, then I would buy one, as I could learn to live with the less-than-pro AF, gimmicks, slow max shutter speed, slow max synch speed, consumer build quality, and slow frame rate.
If IQ at high ISOs is only on par with the 5D2 / 5D3, I can't see any advantage (for me) to getting this body.

The advantage is that it's cheaper. You can't expect to pay less and get more do you? This camera is not design for people that can afford a 5D3 or 1DX. People that can afford those cameras will buy them and those that can't will buy the lower priced 6D.

Hmm, the more I think about it, the more I think I'll be willing to buy it. I don't really shoot sports at all, the only need I have for fast AF would be birds (which I don't really do much of anyway, or if I do, not really seriously), so 11 points is fine for virtually all my photos. I do shoot low light often, so accurate low light AF is very useful, its small and light (comparatively) which is great because I bring my camera with me on travels (where, again, low light AF would be extremely useful), 20mp is perfect for my needs as it won't take up too much processing time/storage space, wifi would be useful for landscape shooting using my phone or a tablet as a controller. If canon manage to make the sensor free of the previous 5D issues such as banding and low ISO noise, I can definitely see myself getting this.

Whats the point of posting a canon sample shot reuploaded to your flickr? Its not your shot, so I believe its against the rules anyway.

Oh I am sure it is. But then people seem to think that a camera that's 4 years old is still going to be better than a camera that's just been released.

despite the fact that the 6D will have lower noise at ISOs the 5d2 can't do let alone handle. or the AF (which people seem to be making bold statements that's it's not any better than the 5d2) with out it being tested or the fact that it can focus better in low light. Or lets not forget that the sensor technology behind the 6d is going to be better than the 5d2. so lets add these things together, a new sensor that's will be designed differently and a faster digic processor to reduce noise with a new AF system. that's a lot of new things added to a new camera that will out perform a camera that's 4 years old.

People are just upset that Canon hasn't made something ground breaking. but that's the problem today, we expect a new product will always be ground breaking. sorry folks it's always going to be an evolution of tech, never something new.

One thing that is 100% guarantee, this camera will take photos and in the hands of a good photographer they will be great photos.

So you are saying a newer camera will have better IQ? You did not see any 5DII and 5DIII reviews ;) ?
