;15051720]is there a major diff bet s100/110 and G12/15 ? what are theythey seem like similar sensor, lens etc except the Body
When the first s series, the s90, came out it was very similar to the then G11. Really as you said the main difference is the form factor, that dictated more than anything else which one you were probably looking for. There are usually slight differences in the lenses; and now with the G15 there is quite a difference in the lenses between the G15 and the s110 creating an additional important difference.
So if you want it in your pocket or small bag all the time s110... if you want to learn about photography and do a fair amount of shooting then the G15 might be the way to go.
I'm still using the s90 quite a bit it has a sort of dedicated role, my G11 sits never really got into it, but then my dSLR sits as well... but that will be changing as these little cameras are a pain in the A**. Ya I don't get all the comments everywhere of people recommending the RX100, I was going to upgrade to it when it first came out, but the price did not make any sense for me; street prices are quite a bit higher than the s series, usually more then 200 when I've checked, so while they are similar they are in different price brackets. Many people though just have 1 camera and in that case I can see that they should think if they want to stretch the budget, or if you already have SLR gear and you don't already have an s series, I can see going for the RX100 if you like the ergonomics and interface on the camera.
