Own this camera for a week now and it's quite nice! It's got pretty good ISO settings, the video quality is good although sometimes when your recording the volume doesn't work (?) . General nice button layout and nice to have the Manual modes. RAW mode is quite soft and probably better off to go with JPG on a digital camera. Generally it's a neat little camera.

I have been a loyal Canon shooter for 20 years... but I bought the S100 in June and I have been disappointed to say the least! Even thought it has a higher megapixel sensor and a newer sensor... my old G9 took far superior photos. I'm talking night and day differences with the older Canon being clearer and sharper. To be honest, I cannot and have not gotten one photo from the S100 that I am 100% happy with. As a professional photographer I carry around a lot of heavy gear all of the time and I don't want to have to do so just for family snap shots... so I keep the S100 for Facebook photos, but I still shake my head every time I use it.

I don't know what's up with Canon, but in general I find the digital cameras of the Digic 4 era to be better than the Digic 5. My 60D does not shoot as clear and sharp as my 50D. The 60D will work better in lower light, but the photos are not as sharp.

I bought this camera on boxing day for 289$ + tax and I've been pretty happy with it! It follows me when my Nikon D90 is too heavy or big.

Yes, this is not DSLR IQ, but it is better than my iPhone. The camera is really fast, the interface is well thought out (after a few hours playing with it) and the ring on the front is extremely useful.

The touchscreen is responsive and a joy to use for navigating between shots.

The WiFi is pretty much useless as it requires connecting it to a PC to "transfer" services (Facebook, ...). The smartphone function is nice (even better with an iPad). You can browse and transfer photos on your iOs device (don't know about Android) pretty easily.

Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase! Here are some far from perfect shots, but I'm still learning how to use the camera.

These first three are processed in Lightroom, and the last one is pretty much SOOC

I'm thinking of getting this as I've been missing having a pocket camera and I'm all about image quality. Any problems with this camera you can think of? Even nitpicky things. Also, is this any good for bokehlicious photos?

Also, if there's any good sites out there a la dpreview that have reviewed it, could you point me to them? I've found a few on Google but don't know if they hold up to reality.

Clicking sound in video recording? has that been fixed yet?

Only of macros. It's got the equivalent of a 120mm f27 lens on a FF camera. Sensor is pretty small and it's f5.9 on the long end. Wide end is f2, but too wide for much DOF control.

Canon S110 bird digiscoping

Would be interested to find out from those bird photographers who have the S110 on how it performs when attatched to a scope when digiscoping, esp with regards RAW & noise control.

Just picked up a new S110. Upgraded from the S100 (broke it), and I absolutely love the ability to connect to my iPhone. I like the GPS idea on the S100, but it took waaay too long to get a position lock. I think Wifi on demand makes more sense.

I picked this up today as I wanted something that I could carry with me no matter the time or place. It was the only Canon compact that shot in RAW that I could find on the shelf, and the ability to shoot RAW was one of my criteria for a P&S. The battery is charging now, once it is up and running I will post some shots.

I got mine on Monday. it was supposed to be replacing a lost S95 but the S95 turned up just before i ordered the S110. I got the S110 anyway as it seems a nice upgrade from the S95.

First impression was its not as bad as the negative posts on the internet make it seem. I like the touch screen, although i keep forgetting its touch and doing things the old way. I always shoot raw with ym DSLR's so it fits in nicely with the workflow (as did the S95 of course) but i really liek the WiFi features.
Maybe its just me but i didnt find it difficult to set up, it all seemed straight forward. No issues uploading to Facebook although if ive got this right i need to shoot raw+jpg, so the camera can upload the jpg version. Is this right?
The big deal for me is the better video capability. I tended to use my S95 more as a video camera than a stills camera in the past, i'd normally have my DSLR with me anyway so was more inclined to use that for stills (and not for video lol)

Its early days still, and i really wont use it much anyway, but its a lovely camera to have in the pocket IMO, and beats the other cameras for size, which for me is the most important.
