I'm not sure if this is a repost but my apologies if it is. I just saw on the sigma facebook page the link to their newest lenses from photokina. I'm especially excited for a 35mm f1.4. Full frame competition to the 35L and the 30mm for full frame that people ask about. Besides all of that, it just looks sexy! Not sure if it is for sigma mount only, as I didn't see anything about the mounting options but with Sigma's history of supporting canon and nikon I'd imagine this will be something canon users would be able to use. Let me know what you think.

MTF looks quite interesting.
Anyway, i got the 35L yesterday, and going to use this one. I don't think this'd be way better (if better) then L, at least it has "less' glass with 67 fither thread. But it's price can be a real deal.

I'd go for Sigma 85/1.4 for my next lens.

Got kind of excited when I saw the announcement. Just waiting to see the MSRP. If it's anything like the 30 or 50 I'm so willing to play the lottery. My Sig501.4 got stolen recently (sadly) and I've been looking at the 35L as a replacement.

If the price is anywhere near where their current primes are selling at, somewhere in the 400-600 dollar range I'm a buyer. I'd be happy to sell my 30 and move onto this. Myself and the OP must have been looking at the same post on facebook at the same time. Posted about this lens within 1 minute of each other. Your post was much more detailed thought.

Dangit I just bought the rokinon 35 1.4 for artsy stuff and the canon 35 f2 for wedding work.

Very nice, but I do not expect this lens to be cheaper than their 85mm.

Yeah I have the same feeling... but I'm keeping my fingers crossed regardless. My siggy 85 is crazy sharp.

Sig 85's still fabulous for the money though, IMO. Even if this new 35 is the same price as the 85, that's still at least $400 cheaper than canon's 35/1.4. I'm betting it's in the $750-1k range.

If it's as good as the 85 F/1.4 is, I will be grabbing one

Agreed, the 35mm would compete against an L lens unlike their 50mm and 30mm that competes with non L lenses.
I'll be very tempted to upgrade my Canon 28 1.8, 50 1.4 and 85 1.8 to the Sigma trio.
